Lindy-Week 2

Well I am very impressed and motivated by all of your successes! You guys are like weight loss rock stars or something!
This was a crazy week for me: I got a nasty, nasty cold. I ate way too much Valentine's Day candy, and when I dropped off Willem (age 2) at the gym day care he got so hysterical that he vomited all over and they called me back to pick him up after 10 minutes.
So, despite some major challenges, I did manage to lose 1 lb.

Carrie, the cleanse is intriguing--I might try it for a few days. My other question for you, Carrie, is how you are able to work out with all your kids around? I tried doing one of my P90x videos but Willem just kept crying for me to pick him up, or clung to my leg, etc. As you can tell, he is a major mama's boy! Also if anyone has any tips on helping him Willem get over his hatred of the gym day care, please pass them on!

My goal this week is to exercise 4x, drink more water, and try a day of cleansing.

Weight: 164

Keep up the hard work everyone!

  1. oh ya! I forgot to anwer that question. It took about 3 weeks of trying every day for Gabe to finally leave me alone on the treadmill. Everyday we would go down and he would try to get on or lift his arms up yelling for me to get off. I just had to get off for a second and calmly explain t him that mommy was exercising and that gabe needed to play with whatever I set him up with. I would usually get out the toys he realy likes like blocks etc and a sipp cup and a snack. My other kids are totally used to it and play down in the playroom and I usually let them watch one 30 min show while I am on. Oh and then the gym - thats a whole other story- gabe went through a time liek that too. YOu just have to keep taking him every day until he get used to it. The more you do it the more he will realize that you are coming back for him . It will take a couple of weeks. You just have to be consistent and you may onely get 15-30 min in for the first couple of weeks but now Gabe stays for and hour and a half! Even now sometimes I have to get off the treadmill if Gabe is too out of control but I just get on again later and give it another try. Good luck. IT will take time but it is like anything else with kids it just takes training and then they will just think it is part of life...ok mom if exercising and I play here right next to her and I am going to be fine. I always say kids are like dogs. YOu can train them to do almost anything. Oh ya- and Naomi has to be sleeping...
